This month we are in Xai Xai, Mozambique partnering with Jason and Rachel Helm who are American missionaries from Indiana that have 3 young kids. A lot of their ministry involves teaching at the local Bible college which Rachel's father helped start. Their main goal has been raising up pastors, both equipping and empowering them to lead and make a difference for Christ so that if they ever had to leave they would still be efficient on their own, making disciples and running the school. Unfortunately, the Bible school just had graduation before we came so we aren't able to partner with this ministry but we are still able to bless them, helping out a lot around their property and taking certain burdens off their shoulders. So far we have done a lot of manual labor ranging from digging out sand from a driveway, painting, working at their farm, to moving hundreds of cinder blocks for a fence that is going up around their property. We also have been able to preach on Sundays at different churches they have helped plant and I had the privilege of preaching the first Sunday. Being able to bless this family who just had a newborn baby before we arrived has been a nice change of pace and I have been learning a lot about living from His strength instead of relying on my own. We have met many warriors for the Kingdom and it has been awesome to see how God is working all things good, according to His purpose.
Below is a Spoken Word from my teammate David that he made last month in Swaziland.
Enjoy!
