This month we are in Ocean View, South Africa (a suburb of Cape Town) doing sports ministry with our contact Bradley Barnes. Bradley was a professional soccer player and is well known throughout the area we are in and God has used this as a platform for his ministry (Kingdom Sports Ministry). He is able to minister to the youth using sports (namely soccer) to build relationships with the kids, which results in open ears and hearts as he helps encourage and teach them the Word of God, which is what we have been doing all week!
A few years back, Bradley had a revelation from God in a dream, where he saw two fields and the two fields represented two kingdoms (The Kingdom of Heaven and the kingdom of the world). He was cut deeply to the heart by this revelation and where he had been sowing the majority of his seed so he began to use the gifts that God had blessed him with to make a difference to further the Kingdom of God. Bradley is an incredible man of The Lord and has been such a blessing to our team, encouraging us all to be obedient to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives throughout this journey.
Bradley and his family moved in with his sister in law, opening up their house full time for missionaries (no tent this month)! Not only has Bradley given up his house for The Lord (the physical) but he has also yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit and his desires for his life and ministry in his heart (the spiritual).
Often times we struggle with letting The Lord have complete control of our "house" (our hearts) and keep him only in certain "rooms" as we cling to sin and other worldly desires that keep him from completely renovating and renewing our hearts and minds. Sin can even keep The Lord outside of our "house" altogether, as we just crack open the door from time to time, only to ask for a quick fix but never really letting him completely renew or bring any real restoration to the situation. Ever since the Race has started, God has been revealing areas of my "house" that still need restoration and the cleaning of my Savior. He has slowly been working in my heart to completely open my "house" to this God-Man who has been sitting outside with his apron and bucket just waiting for me to invite him in to clean and Love the Hell right off of me!
Think about which field you are sowing most of your seeds, because only one of the fields has any real eternal value and this can show where your true Treasure lies. He sits at the door and knocks…….let Him in!!!!
