Jeremiah 51:10
Recently, God provided me with an awesome tax refund. He’s also given me people who can provide me with wise counsel and leadership. Oh, He’s also given me an amazing community of people. In fact, God does a lot of great things for me. Unfortunately, I’m not always aware of them, and I most certainly don’t tell other people about them enough.
About a week ago, I was reading in John 4. In the story, Jesus meets with the woman at the well. He basically prophesies about her life and tells her that He’s the Christ. The woman then goes back to her town and tells everyone about Jesus, and “many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of [her] testimony.” (John 4:39)
It gets even better. Jesus stays with those people for a couple days, and they start to believe in Him not because of her testimony but because they now have their own testimonies about Him. They tell the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” (John 4:42)
God does works in our lives for His glory. The problem is that often we keep quiet about those works, and therefore, He doesn’t receive any glory. I want to be like the Samaritan woman and go tell everyone about all of the things that Jesus has done in my life, big or small.
With that being said, I will be starting a weekly blog series called “Wowzer Wednesdays.” Yes. Wowzer. As in, “Wowzer! Look what God did this week!” Cheesy, I know. Just go with it.
Every Wednesday, I’ll be sharing a story about God did that week. My hope is that as you read these stories, you’ll be drawn closer to the Father and moved to glorify Him.
Also, I know that I’m not the only one with stories to tell about how awesome God is so if you have something you’d like to share, let me know, and I’ll be happy to feature you in a guest blog post one week.
Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how He has had mercy on you.
