So I thought it was about time I updated y’all on what I’ve been doing here in Moldova.  I can’t believe I’ve been here for about 3 weeks.  Time has flown by!  I also can’t believe that in a week, I’ll be headed to Malawi and will begin my three-month stay in Africa!  Wow!  Life is crazy!  Just to further update what’s going on in the next week, on Tuesday night, we’ll leave to take an overnight train back to Bucharest, Romania.  We’ll have a few days of squad time there before flying out to Malawi on October 30.  I’ll be in Africa on Halloween.  Crazy!

But back to updating you on what I’ve been doing here in Moldova.   Again, we’ve been working with a pastor named Vitally who has a ministry called Sinai 30, a vision to plant 30 churches in 30 years.  We’ve been doing different ministry tasks:  a lot of prayer, some working with kids, cleaning various things.  But for this blog, I want to focus on one area.

This month, we’ve been building a beaver shelter.  If you’re wondering why we’ve been building a beaver shelter, check out my previous blog post.  This past week, we’ve been spending nearly every day mixing cement, carrying cinder blocks, laying cement, mixing cement, laying bricks, mixing cement.  It’s been hard work, especially the day we unloaded about 500 cinder blocks from a truck and then carried them down some stairs.  But it’s been great to do some physical labor.  Though I’ve been exhausted and sore, I’ve also felt great physically.  But more than that, it’s awesome to know that we’re doing work that is gonna have a long-term impact on God’s kingdom here in Cornesti.  As Vitally becomes self-sufficient through the beaver business, he is going to be able to complete more and more of his vision.  And as more churches get planted, more and more people will come to know Christ, and God’s truth and love will spread like wildfire throughout the area.  Isn’t it cool how mixing some cement can have that type of impact?  That is what working unto the Lord is all about.  God doesn’t care about the bricks we laid this week, but He does care about the people in this area who don’t have a relationship with Him, and He’s gonna use those bricks to reach them.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord, you will receive the inheritance as your reward.  You are serving the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

Continue to be in prayer for Sinai 30 and Vitally.  Continue to pray for the success of the beaver business and God’s provision for this ministry.
