So many of you will be receiving this in the mail over the next few days.  But for those of you whose address I may not have, here’s my support letter.

I hope that you are doing
well!  I wanted to take an opportunity to
let you know what God has been doing in my life recently.  As you may know, I spent the past year on a
mission trip called the World Race.  I
traveled with a team of other people to eleven different countries over eleven
months and worked to spread the love of Christ to the people of each
country.  Our team went to Fond Blanc,
Haiti, where we went to tent villages and encouraged people
who had lost everything in the earthquake.
We went to
Manila, Philippines, where we cared for and loved orphans and fed many
families living in poverty.  We went to
Cornesti, Moldova, where we built a beaver shelter, which allowed a
pastor to take one more step towards being self-sufficient to provide for his
family and his ministry.  We went to
villages in
Malawi, where we were able to share the Gospel and the love
of Christ to many villagers.  We traveled
to several other countries where God used us to share His love and provide for
His people.

God also used this period
of time to teach and grow me.  As I’ve
transitioned back to life in
America, I’ve been able to reflect on these experiences and
lessons.  First, I learned the importance
of community.  My teammates and I lived
in constant community during our trip.
While that living was certainly difficult at times, I grew to love this
support, especially after transitioning back to a life with less
community.  I can recount many times when
my teammates listened to me, prayed for me, and encouraged me as I went through
struggles.  Second, as God showed me all
of the great needs in the world, I learned more about God’s purpose for my
life.  I realized more about what it
means to live a life that is not my own and to be used by God to bring His
kingdom to earth.  These two lessons only
scratch the surface of all that I learned.
I could continue to tell you about how I’ve learned more about truly
finding my identity in Christ, being bold and confident, and using my voice for
God.

As I’ve transitioned out of
the World Race, one point has been clear.
God gave me these lessons and experiences to share them with others, and
He has now given me an opportunity to fulfill that purpose.  In September, I will be leading a Real Life
trip with Adventures in Missions.  Real
Life is a mission trip for college-aged people.
As a Real Life leader, I will be given the opportunity to disciple,
encourage, and share my experiences with seven students.  My co-leader and I will be traveling with
this team of seven people to
Lira,
Uganda to work with Victory Outreach Ministries for three
months.  Our team will be performing
various tasks, including helping in schools, caring for orphans, encouraging
HIV/AIDS victims, and working in manual labor jobs.  My co-leader and I will be standing side by
side with our students in ministry but also walking through life with them.  We will be speaking truth to them as we share
the lessons and experiences that God gave us.

I am excited to be given
this opportunity to speak to my generation about God’s purpose.  However, I need your support.  First, I need your support in prayer.  Pray that I can rely on God’s strength as I
step into this new role as a leader.
Pray that God will humble me as I stand in this position.  Pray that God will give me the words to speak
to the people I am leading and that I can have His heart for these people.

Second, I need your support
in finances.  I need $1500 to be fully
supported for this trip.  I ask that you
pray and consider supporting me in this way.
If you feel God calling you to donate to the costs of the trip, you may
write a check and make it payable to Adventures in Missions and return the
response card with your donation to Adventures in Missions P.O. Box 534470,
Atlanta, GA 30353-4470.  Besides the
costs of the trip, I also have personal expenses and debts, including student
loans.  If you feel god calling you to
donate to this cause, you may write a check and make it payable to Robby Smith
and mail it to Robby Smith 306 Saltlick Trace Peachtree City, GA 30269.

I thank you for your
support and hope that you will prayerfully consider joining me in ministry.  Please stay updated on my support and follow
my trip through my blog at robbysmith.theworldrace.org.  You can also learn more about Real Life at www.adventures.org/reallife.
