Hey everyone!  Just wanted to give a quick update to let you know that I’m still alive and where I’m at.  For the past week, I’ve been in Ireland.  Left the DR last Saturday (Normally, I’m all about travel blogs but this trip really wasn’t that exciting.  Had a couple delays but nothing unusual for air travel.) and landed in Ireland at about 10 AM local time (Ireland is 5 hours ahead of Eastern time) on Sunday.  I’ll probablty be writing a summary blog of the DR soon.   Still gotta gather my thoughts.  The last few days I’ve been at the Awakening worship conference.  Basically all of the current World Race squads and the alumni come together for to worship.  It has been an absolutely incredible time of hearing from God.  Defintely be looking for several blogs about that.  Currently I’m still in Dublin (well actually about 20 minutes outside of Dublin) for debrief.  Just a chance for our teams to talk with the squad leaders and coaches about the past two months and to get their wonderful wisdom and encouragement.  Other than that, it’s been a lot of hanging out and enjoying Ireland.  Definitely been a great time.  Spent the day in Dublin yesterday.  Beautiful city.  Walked around and looked at different stuff.  Bought an awesome Ireland ski cap with Viking horns (Be on the lookout for a picture) and enjoyed a nice juicy hamburger with a Guiness.  Great day.
On Monday, we’ll be headed to our ministry location. Once again, because we’re such an enormous squad of 11 teams, we’ve been split up.  6 teams will be staying in Ireland, 1 team in Dublin and 5 teams (including my team) in Gallway.  The other 5 teams will be going to Eastern Europe to work in Romania, Czech Republic, and Moldova.  In Gallway, my team will be working with Team Green Light with a church called Discovery Church.  Not completely sure on what we’ll be doing but I think it might involve street evangelism type stuff.  It’ll be interesting doing ministry in a westernized country.  When I joined the World Race, I expected that every month was gonna be in the poorest of the poor slum villages.  But as one of my squad mates, Colby Gardner, pointed out, I can relate to these people this month.  I have no idea what it is like to live in a poor slum village in a third world country and not have food to eat, but I do know what it’s like to live in a Western middle class community and struggle with materialism and lust and gluttony, etc.  Anyways, I look forward to seeing what God has in store for this month.  I’ll give another update when we get to Gallway in a few days.
