So I’ll be mailing out and posting on here my support letter within the next day or two, but in the mean time, I wanted to tell you how you can financially support me most effectively.

There are 3 ways you can donate money to my trip.  I’ll rank them in order of worst to best.
  1. Donating online with a credit card.  Yes, this is one of the easiest ways, but it is not the best way.  Why?  Because the man brings you down! In other words, credit card companies are all about fees, and in this case, 5% of whatever you donate goes to the credit card company instead of my trip.  Yes, 5 seems like a small number, but if all $14,300 (by the way, that’s the amount I have to raise) was donated through this way, that means that $715 would go to the credit card company, instead of supporting my trip.  Holy moly! Not good for you.  Not good for me.  Not good for the orphans in the Philippines.
  2. Donating online through bank draft.  Yes, this way is also rather easy, but it is also not the best way.  Why?  Because the man brings you down again!  In other words, banks are also all about fees, and in this case, 3% of whatever you donate goes to the bank instead of my trip.  Yes, 3 seems like a small number and is even smaller than 5 (these math lessons are for free by the way.  You’re welcome.), but if all $14,300 (if you didn’t get it the first time, that’s the amount I have to raise) was donated through this way, that means that $429 would go to the bank instead of supporting my trip.  Holy moly!  Still not good for you.  Still not good for me.  Still not good for the orphans in the Philippines.
  3. Donating through mailing a check to Adventures in Missions.  Yes, this is the hardest way.  You have to write a check and lick an envelope and mail it.  It takes awhile.  But it is the best way.  Why?  Because it allows you to bring down the man!  No fees!  100% of whatever you donate goes to supporting my trip.  If $14,300 (who can tell me what this number represents?) was donated through this way, that means that all $14,300 would go to supporting my trip.  Holy moly!  Good for you!  Good for me!  Good for the orphans in the Philippines!  Hooray!

So let’s conclude today’s lesson.  Credit card companies bad!  Banks bad!  Checks good!  Any questions?
