Training Camp has come and gone. The 10 days I had been looking forward to and dreading at the same time, is now in the past. It is at this moment that I find myself thinking back at how far Gap J squad and myself have come in the last six months. It has been a fantastic, tough, wonderful, and endurance-building road traveled thus far. Thanks to the many Skype calls, group messages and of course TC, the squad has become like a family, even before leaving for the mission field. The relationships that have formed are ones that would surprise me if they didn’t last a lifetime. It is a huge blessing to know these people that I’ll be serving with. Training Camp helped solidify these folks in my life. We all camped together, broke together, ran out of water on the man hike together, took bucket showers (not together), ate weird foods together, and just lived life together. We also got a glimpse of what a true Christian community is supposed to look like.
I found out some very exciting news as well! I found out who was going to be on my team for at least the first three months on the field. Here they are:
From left to right we have Tucker Stevens, Bailea Barwick, Anna Prevatte, myself, Megan Cipriani, Paul Duesing, and Elizabeth Weber.
I couldn’t have asked for a better team! I love these folks so much! I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me and these awesome people. The road traveled thus far has been a good one, and it promises to get even better. We just have to trust in the Lord at all times and say goodbye to our identities, for our identities are not in ourselves, but rather in Christ. Please keep us in your prayers!
