I’m officially on the mission field now, and have been since late Wednesday night!  I can’t believe it’s finally here!  Quito is amazing by the way!  I don’t have any pictures yet of the city (I’ll be sure to get some), but trust me, it’s unbelievably beautiful.  We’re tucked away in the Andes, so the city is surrounded by mountains.

We’re staying at a nice team house during our first month here in Quito.  The whole squad is together for the duration of our stay, and all of the men on the squad are tenting the entire time.  I would have never guessed a year ago that I would ever be tenting on the side of a mountain in Ecuador.  The views are stunning (stay tuned for pics)!

On Thursday we were supposed to jump right into our ministry, but things didn’t go as planned.  We are supposed to work with a church called La Luz, but we have yet to serve them due to some problems that have arisen on their end.  We have not been ministry-less though.  On Thursday we were able to serve our ministry hosts by helping out around the team house, and yesterday we joined one of the other teams at an before and after school program.  We have faith we’ll get to La Luz at some point, but we’re happy with everything so far!  Keep us in your prayers as we anxiously await what’s in store, and keep the other teams in your prayers too as they have already experienced quite a bit (do read their blogs).
