Friends! Blogging is back! This particular blog is an update on all things Hill. We have had a lot of things happen this past year that you kept up with, and now we have some really new things happening and, well, maybe you noticed…
We left the US for 11 months and traveled around the world. Maybe you noticed that traveling the world wasn’t all we did. We changed. We became more than we thought we ever could have. We learned to rely on the Lord.
Maybe you’ve noticed, we grew.
We grew in our walks with the Lord, in our marriage, in our ability to be human, to have intentional and meaningful relationships with other people who are just trying to be human too.
Robbie grew physically smaller, but spiritually bigger. He defied the lies of Satan and stepped into being the man of God he was created to be, and I am proud to be his wife.
We grew out of our comfort zones. We grew in our capacity to see the world differently, to eat differently, to use the bathroom in really strange places, and to sleep in even stranger places—mostly without a second thought.
We grew our understanding of God. We let Him out of the box we had put Him in.
I guess you could say, for us, He grew too. And when He grew, we grew.
Maybe you’ve noticed, we moved.
This was a tough one for us. We didn’t exactly want to move, but Jesus had other plans.
So, we listened to the Lord and obeyed His request. Even though it was hard. Even though it wasn’t what we wanted initially.
We moved to Georgia. We arrived on the 4th of July, just after noon, and started a new chapter of life here, but still, always, following the Lord. In fact, we just found out that we have an apartment at the beginning of August! Hurray!
We are really excited to be here and also really expectant on the Lord and what He is going to accomplish in and through us here in Georgia.
Maybe you’ve noticed, Katie got a new job.
I (Katie) have started working for Adventures In Missions. I have the amazing opportunity to get to work with future World Race participants as they prepare to go on the field, and while they are in the field.
I get to handle all of the financial, administrative, and logistical components of their journey.
I get a really cool opportunity to speak life into 8 treasurers and 3 logistics people on my first Squad (K Squad) as an SQA (Squad Administrator).
I get to love them, walk with them (mostly through email and phone calls), and speak truths over them as they traverse the amazingly beautiful and scary adventure that is the World Race.
I am blessed to have this opportunity, and I pray that you all would know how seriously I take this blessing I have been given. It is an honor to serve the Lord in this way.
While this new job is the opportunity that the Lord has used to get us to Georgia, we don’t believe that this is the only reason we are here. We will continue to listen to Him and follow Him no matter where He calls, because we chose to say Yes to the Lord when we signed up for the World Race back in August of 2014, we said Yes throughout our year on the race, we said Yes when we applied for this position in Georgia, we said Yes when we accepted this job when it was offered, and we will continue to say Yes as the Lord makes other paths clear to us for the rest of our lives.
So, maybe you noticed, maybe you believe in us and what the Lord is doing in and through our life, and maybe you want to get behind us on this journey. If that’s the case, please feel free to help us raise support for Adventure’s as we all partner with the Lord to bring His Kingdom to earth.
My yearly goal to fundraise is $7,000, but for this first year (because of an amazingly supportive donor we only need to raise another $3,500. That is $300 a month! Just click on the “Donate” at the top of this page to make either a one-time donation or a monthly donation!
