You are and you will be.
The Lord lives outside of time. He can see what’s already happened, what’s happening, and what’s going to happen. Therefore, He knows who I was, who I am, and who I will be. As far as He’s concerned, I am what I’m becoming. The Lord sees the potential and good in me and calls it like He sees it.
I used to believe in an ‘Already, not yet.’ But God showed me that He would never, ever say it like that. Because to say it like that would imply that the Lord looks back on us from a place we need to get to. Rather, He sees what we’ve become in the future and walks right beside us in the present and whispers hints of who we are and what we’re becoming. The Lord sees room to grow as potential growth, not a deficit of character. He perfectly balances that with correction and direction where we’ve already grown.
He doesn’t focus on or hold me to what I haven’t become but only what I have and will become. ‘Only let us live up to what we have already attained.’
You are and you will be.
This is one of the many things I’ve been learning to a greater extent at G42; the leadership academy I’m attending (click the link if you’d like to learn more). I hope you were able to share with me in this revelation that was birthed from class last semester. If you enjoyed it, I ask that you consider partnering with me however Spirit leads-prayer, sharing encouragement of what He’s doing, financial support (link to my fundraising page), sharing this message with others, etc. Thanks for following and supporting my journey! Have a fantastic day!
