The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1

The Lord never fails to speak to me through the beautiful skies he creates for us every single day. To me, its more than just some pretty colors, it is our Creator bringing heaven to earth.

From an early age the question “how do you know he’s real if you can’t see him,” never really made sense to me because how can the sky look like that if there isn’t a creator, creating it? As you can see from these pictures, God likes to show off. Personally, I feel like he almost creates these beautiful paintings just for me. To remind me he is always here even when I feel like he’s distant. And to remind me that he is a fun God who likes to be creative for his children.

Sometimes I think we can miss the beauty of God when we are too focused on our earthly needs. We miss that sunrise when we are too busy running out the door spilling coffee on ourselves trying to get to our car for work or school. We miss those wildflowers along the side of the road when we are too busy yelling at the car in front of us to go faster. We miss the birds chirping in the trees when we turn our tv’s up louder to block out the world.

 We. Just. Miss. It.

The more we care about our flesh, the less we will get to experience the heaven God has brought down to earth for us to enjoy. Get up 15 minutes earlier, look out the window at the stop light, turn off the tv, and sit in what the Lord has created for us.
