This race has been a lot of growth for me in worship. I’ve wrote about my new perspective on worship before, but as we were processing tonight about how worship has changed for us I realized that it did for me way more than I had even realized 4 months ago. Malia and Will, our worship coordinators, gave us time around the fire to just think about how worship has changed for us throughout the race and as I was thinking and praying, the Lord wrote out a nice little paragraph, through my hands, into the notes on my phone. I didn’t even realize how true it all was until my hands stopped typing. I’m sharing this with you all because this paragraph is what worship is. It’s how we should live in worship and how we should view it. I shared it with my squad tonight even with shaky hands, a fast beating heart and oddly enough a group of Notre Dame students staring at us from the upstairs porch, but I knew others were meant to hear it, so here it goes…
It’s freedom. It’s praising the Lord through whatever I’m doing throughout the day. It’s more than a few songs on Sunday’s. It’s bold. It’s regardless of if I’m in the mood or not. It’s praising my King because he deserves every breath. It’s screaming out, not thinking about the people around me. It’s exciting. It’s intimate time with him even if I’m in a crowd of people. It’s bonding in the presence of who he is with the people around me. It’s a privilege. It’s what he wants to hear. It’s sound wether it’s good or not being poured out to our father and our creator. It’s a time where nothing can distract me. It’s a time the devil hates but I love. It’s my favorite part of any day. It’s the most beautiful thing I know. It’s life. It’s breath. It’s worship to our incredible King.
