So I finished my chronological reading plan a couple weeks ago which means I finished the whole bible in 9 months!! I wish I would’ve done it years ago because I was really missing out on some stuff, but regardless, I finally did it. After I finished though I felt a little lost, not really knowing where to read, but then the Lord showed up, like usual, and pushed me to 1 Peter. I read through it in awe realizing I hadn’t really processed all that book had for me the first time I read it. I then decided I wanted to memorize the whole book. It’s 5 chapters but I really feel like to have those verses written on my heart could change the way I think and the way I live my life. So I started by rewriting the book in my own words just to help me get a solid concept of the whole thing. It’s a little long but worth the read so don’t get sleepy on me!!!
To us, the chosen,
May we have an overflowing amount of grace and peace.
All the praise is his because he gave us new life in his beautiful mercy.
We now receive a living hope due to his resurrection.
His kingdom is our promised and guarded inheritance.
We are now able to rejoice even in the midst of our earthly suffering.
He is unseen but we believe and we love him regardless.
We are genuinely overflowing with his insane and beautiful joy.
With clear minds we await for his grace to come when he is revealed.
We are called to be holy just as he is holy.
We were redeemed by precious blood, incomparable to earthly riches.
His redemption for us was planned before the start of the world.
We are now able to love deep because of our new lives.
His word is forever.
We are brand new and have tasted and seen that he is good.
We are built to be temples holding the holy spirit.
When we trust in him we can never be put to shame.
We are chosen by him, created to be his holy people and prized possession.
We are out of the darkness and dancing in his glorious light.
We are his people, full of his abundant mercy.
We are to live in freedom, yet not take advantage of it.
Since he suffered for us we now too are called to suffer for him.
He took our sins upon him and we are healed due to the scars he endured.
He is our shepherd and we can now live as his sheep.
Women, our beauty should come from our inner self not from outward appearance.
Our gentle and quiet spirit has much worth to our Father in heaven.
We are called to love one another, have exceeding compassion, and stay humble.
When we are faced with evil we should repay it with many blessings.
We should always look for peace and act on it.
We will be covered in blessings when we suffer for his names sake.
We should always be ready to share our hope.
For he died in the flesh but was made fully alive in the spirit.
When we are baptized in water we receive a clear and sharp mind towards God.
We can rid of the sin in our bodies if we are willing to suffer for Christ.
We can now live for God’s will instead of the earthly evils.
We must be constantly alert because the end is coming quickly.
If we love deep we can cover sin in our love.
We must use the gifts gave unto serve so we are able to look more like him.
Our words should be of God and our service out of his power and sustenance.
He should be glorified in everything.
When we are insulted for his namesake, we are blessed.
His spirit and glory must rest upon us all our days.
We should be fully committed to doing good and staying faithful to our father.
We are to be shepherds over his people with special care.
We do it out of a willing spirit, excited to serve him.
We are examples to the flock of Christs love for us.
We await the true shepherds return.
When he returns we will receive a crown on our heads that can never be destroyed.
We are to always walk in humility.
We can cast our worries onto him because he cares for us.
We will suffer for now, but then we will be fully restored in strength.
We now can stand fast in his true grace.
