God gives us all skills and each of us are different from one another. It says in 1 Corinthians, we are all of one body but different parts and I was blessed the past five days to live out my unique skills.

I partnered with an organization, Samaritan Creations, who’s focus is rescuing, restoring and empowering women trapped in the sex trade industry. The founders Mike and Kay Killar were intentional about how we could best help them and decided, based on my degree, interests and skills, I’d be able to help them best with their marketing.

For me this looked like downloading illustrator again, being thankful I still had photoshop, exploding with excitement over taking photos, sitting in front of my computer from 8-5, meeting with each of the women and learning about their dreams and skills, understanding finances and sales tactics, communicating with Kay and Mike on design and how to best develop their vision and so much more.

Each day was fueled by coffee and Jesus, but the joyous atmosphere of Samaritan Creations kept me motivated.

During this time I learned I am 100% my biggest critic and never feel my work is up to par. So having this organization love my work was an amazing confidence boost.

“There will always be someone better than you and someone worse than you but comparison is the thief of joy.”

I am grateful for the opportunity I had to use my God given skills to create something that they can use to represent their organization well.
