I place my hands to the keyboard, ready for words to explode from my fingertips and yet my mind is empty. Well, It is not that it is empty but that I have so much I want to say I do not know where to begin. How do you truly compile all your experiences into a few short paragraphs when I want to have my words paint pictures and place you exactly where I am?

I have been away from home for over two weeks now and at training camp since Friday. The amount of teachings and lessons we have sat through have been astronomical, however the knowledge and guidance has been priceless. With each speaker my heart and eyes are opened to a new perspective.

This weekend I have regained over 24 friends and continued to build upon these relationships. We have budgeted out our food and washed our clothes in sinks. (Yes I am still in America) One of my teammates touched up my undercut and I cut six inches off another’s hair. I’m surviving off of coffee, laughter and Jesus alone. Though I may be tired, I am extremely excited for what is to come.

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, 1 am possibly, we begin our trek to Chile. Each of us have packed, repacked, unpacked, tossed and organized our packs to make them weigh less and able to carry more. We will find out how much mine weighs now that I am down to less of everything from my previous blog.

So, with a tiny bible in one hand and coffee in the other… and a pack on my back and front… It FINALLY begins!

Here is my pack, backpack and I 🙂
