This blog is to be read imagining we are all in a large fancy restaurant in fancy respectful dresses and suits, sipping on fancy drinks and using shiny fancy silverware.
Yes very fancy. Now that you have that picture in your mind…
Ding! Ding! Ding! I would like to make a toast. To the people I have spent my life with for the last year, you have taught me much more than I deserve.
A toast to Jenna Kehrli who taught me that bold people should never use small voices, but should instead use wise words. A lady of class and just the right amount of sass, she has been the perfect personification of what powerful women look like.
To Melissa Lowell. A scholar and story teller, she has shown me love in the most needed ways. With guidance, kind word, and care she has truly brought new perspectives to the ambitions and passions in my life. Always there to listen and never short of a great laugh, Melissa has touched my life in ways no one else could.
And that brings me to Ginny Allison, or GinGin as I like to call her. The best words I could use to describe this woman are spunk, personality, and passion. Filled to the brim with fun and God’s truth she is perfect for both giggle and gab. A huge encourager and servant, Ginny has taught me to hold tight to the Lord’s truth no matter what my emotions may say.
To the lovely Jessie German, a woman with the grace that moves hearts and a testimony that will shake nations. I have learned the importance of what a good listening ear can do for a person through her. She has a keen ear not only for people’s hurts, but also for the voice of the Lord. Wife of Cory German, she has been a wonderful example of how the church should love Christ.
Do not think I have forgotten the men.
Cory. A man of conviction, integrity and not to mention a great sense of humor. He has been a phenomenal example of a loving and devoted husband and in that an amazing example of Jesus Christ. His dedication to anything he applies himself to motivates me everyday.
And last but not least, my leader, Evan. This man has taught me the deep deep value of wisdom. He is the epitome of the wise man in the saying “A wise man speaks because he has something to say; a fool because he has to say something”. His character has definitely helped whip my character into shape.
These people have been exactly what I have needed this year. If I had gone looking for a handful of people to shape and shift who I am, I would have short-changed myself. That is why, I believe, God took matters into His own hands and picked this wild bunch for me.
