Trumpets of One

God is truly amazing!! I just came home from training camp on October 25, 2009 knowing God has blessed me with the most amazing team to travel the world with next year!! Isn’t it wild to think that when God knit me in my mommy’s belly 26 years ago that He made me for this and chose this team for me in this chapter of my life?? Each and everyone of the people on this team are so unqiue and beautiful. I cannot wait to learn, laugh, grow, share and love with them over the next year. I love them as if I have known them my whole life already and feel honored to call them my family!!
Our team name, “Trumpets of One“, represents who we are together, who we want to become and what we will embody over the next year. The word “Trumpets” came from the scripture given to our team leader from 2 Corinthians 2:14 which reads as follows, 14 “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.” This year we want to ooze Him. We want to walk down the streets and people hear Him coming through us and smell the fragrance of His word from miles away. We want to bring His light into a dark room. We want to show the world that there is victory in the name of Jesus and that in Him, we will share hope, love, promise, freedom and joy.
And that brings me to the second part of our name, “One“. The word “One” came from Philippians 2:1-4 which states, 1 “Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of ONE ACCORD, of ONE MIND. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Our team wants to be of one accord in Him at all times. We want to be a “we” in unity at all times in His name and for Him. We want to live to bring Him glory and to walk each day in His will not our own, not our own individual ideas and plans, but His will and His plan each and everyday of this coming year. We will love as One body and in Him, in 2010, the six of us will be “Trumpets of One“.
