As Sarah mentioned, this month our ministry is the famous (amoing racers) Unsung Heros (UH) month. It’s an opportunity to meet those doing Kingdom work alone. The mission of the World Race is to help established ministries with their immediate needs. If there is a ministry with no support system or isn’t in the loop for short term missionary trips, it is our job to find them, make them known, support them by getting the word out about them, and trying to partner with them so future AIM missionaries can visit.

Each team that does UH firsts creates a vision followed by goals for the month. Since this is a discipleship program as well as a missionary trip, that vision and goals include everything from personal spiritual growth to furthering the kingdom through networking. Our team has revised our original vision and goals for our general ministry which we borrowed from Inglesias Comunidad Multicultural (ICM) which was our first contact from the Dominican Republic.

Our UH vision is: Love God, Love People, Make Contact.
Our goals for UH are the following: Love God by personal and group devotionals into His word, team worship, and prayer walks to enable divine appointments, pour out blessings over the country, and go where the spirit leads us.

Love People by pouring spiritually and relationally into the team, praying for individuals of this country, praying for the country as a whole, and keeping each other accountable on where we intend to grow personally.

Make contacts: by doing the first two in order, the Lord will lead us to the people and places we need to go to succeed in making new contacts for UH. This last goal only succeeds when listening to the Lord and not on our own understanding.

I am reminded of the verse Sarah and I have on our prayer card, specifically Romans 10:15, And how can they preach unless they are sent? “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!”
The unsung heros we will meet are the ones this speaks of. During one of our prayer meetings, I got the vision of two tall and wide shelving units full of shoes. As I stood before them, the Lord spoke and said, “take the shoes in front of you and find the feet that fit them.”
And so, here we are. Let His will be done.
