my original blog can be found here! 🙂

I am a 22-year old lover of life. I am a tiny dancer who is very passionate about God, relationships, her mother and father, family, culture, raw and uninhibited dance, children, 1 Corinthians 13:13, media literacy, Rocky, bare beauty, women, keeping a journal, film over digital, reading and writing, classic books, good stories, life stories, unsung heroes, ethnic clothing, Audrey Hepburn, empathy, the power of prayer, smoothies on hot days, watermelons in the summer, and unexpected talks that lead to great lessons.

I love my family, finishing school with a Child and Adolescent Development major and a minor in Sociology,
I’d prefer hiking and getting down and dirty in adventure over getting my nails done, I’d prefer a handmade gift over expensive things, I aspire to be a serious tambourine player (just you watch), I frequently hold spontaneous dance parties in my family room, either with my closest friends or by myself, highly carnivorous (steak, burgers, hot dogs, ribs, barbecue, everything), currently a performer in the parades at Disneyland, my dog is my best friend, by the sea or in the mountainside > city life, I have a serious fascination with traditional Mexican clothing, Mumford & Sons, firm believer in miracles, road trips, big trees, my favorite animal is the beluga whale, I conquered my fear of snakes, I’m not scared of spiders (I actually kill them for my OLDER brother, true story), I think God was thinking of me when He created the watermelon, laughing till your stomach hurts, camping, the Boston Celtics, Baby Mama still makes me laugh, P.S. I Love You still makes me cry, but my favorite movies are It’s A Wonderful Life, Stand By Me, and Funny Face, my favorite book is East of Eden, I believe that catching a cold makes the winter season a little bit more complete (seriously), and I still think the T-Rex is a weird, ridiculous dinosaur.

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”
1 Corinthians 13:2

I want to make the world my full-time classroom, because I believe that the people that I meet, the stories that I hear, and the visions that I will see can teach more so much more than a textbook will ever be able to. I want to give a voice to those who have been silenced, and I want to scream and shout their stories of bondage to freedom and transforming grace from the mountaintops. I want to expose the beauty and the reality of God within the lives of people worldwide through writings, through photographs, and through dance so that, in turn, people may be able to see the beauty and the reality of God in their own lives as well. Most of all, I want to passionately love people fiercely because of the greatest, fiercest, most passionate kind of love God has given to me through the gospel of Jesus Christ. He died for the sins of the world and is alive today. He set the captives free and that is why I am here today. He lives in my heart and that is why I dance, why I hope, why I live, and why I love.
