Here in South Africa the landscape is beautiful beyond expression. At times I look out into the day sky only to fix my eyes on pastures of green land, mountains covered with gorgeous trees, and flowers with vibrant colors. The mountain tops rise high above the ground touching the clouds and from a distance the land seems to never end.

There are definitely those moments that I have where nature is just nature and nothing in my heart moves. Then there are those times where God says LOOK. Look at me, look at who I am, look at a glimpse of eternity, look at my art work, look at what I spoke into existence, look at my majesty, look at my day and night sketching. My son just look!

I must say that sometimes simply looking brings me to my knees and sets the reality in my heart that God doesn’t need me. Where was I when he named the stars? Where was I when he placed the moon in the sky? Where was I when he commanded the sea to go no further? Where was I when he created a woman from the ribs of man? The truth is that God is magnificent and exceedingly glorious. His creation speaks of how splendid he is and sometimes it is unfathomable that God has chosen to use such fallible men to bring him glory. As David said in Psalm 8“when I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him”

Jesus I fall to my knees in humbleness in awe of who you are. There is only one God who can cause rocks to cry out and there is only one God who can command the heavens to open up.

Jesus is King!
