This month was somewhat of a roller coaster spiritually due to feeling imbalanced as I stated in one of my last blogs, but as usual the Lord is faithful in delivering his children form dry and desolate lands and leading them to green pastures. Sometimes I feel like David because in one psalm he’d write about the goodness of the lord, the glory and splendor of his king, and the next psalm he’d be crying out oh God where art thou, deliver me, hear my cry, etc. You all know what I am talking about right?

Anyway, something that I love in all of that is this: whether David was rejoicing and delighting in the majesty of God or whether he was crying and pleading to the Lord for his presence, both rejoicing and pleading kept him before the Lord. That is what matters and that is what makes the nature of both positions before the lord beautiful! I can say for me there is no greater delight and there is no place I’d rather be than before my Lord and Savior.

I kind of laugh as I write this because the person reading this who does not understand the nature of God, his unfailing love, his mercy, his grace, his tenderness, his gentleness, his patience, etc. won’t understand this blog and will perhaps just see “a man who isn’t firm in his faith, isn’t firm in the true and living God that he proclaims because he is always up and down it seems.”

Really read the scriptures and you will see me in a lot of the men God used! Weak, feeble, broken, contrite, foolish, flawed, poor spirit! Maybe as you read the Lord will reveal the freeing truth to you that those are exactly the people God chooses to use that no man may boast and that his glory may be displayed all the more. I love that I am not great and don’t have to be great because Christ is and it is in him I live and have my being!!!

Jeremiah 9:23-24 Thus says the Lord “ Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord. “

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise;  God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

Oh, how this weak and feeble man wants to be with him more than anything in this world and when he whispers in my ear come away with me, come and be in my presence, with no hesitation I want to Go! I never want to miss the richness, the rest, and the gladness of being wrapped in his arms. I want that unquenchable passion to spring forth and produce fruit that adorns his gospel, and I want to be like him, and know him more than anything. I hope this encourages you as you read it!

We are all the same in the Kingdom of God, the peasant girl and boy, the outcast, the poor, is loved no more or no less that the mighty warrior, or the mighty king, or the prophet. Therefore, let the boundless love of Christ captivate you and run to Christ and him alone because that is the response to such a LOVE.
