I'm adding body guard to my resume
Yes 5'8, 5'9 on a good day Richie Rich was asked to be a body guard for one of the silliest reasons. I wasn't asked because I have acquired a skill of fighting bad guys off in ways that would be considered lethal, but because the contact said it look like I work out and I had street sense. Yes I laughed too :). When I told her I was from Houston she figured I may have grown up around some of the things that go on in Honduras such as drugs, murders, rape, gun robberies, etc. She guessed right I have grew up around it but by the grace of God I've never been a victim of it or involved in it. She also figured if something happened I would react and not just stop and look. She is correct lol.
So I was asked because the contact had to make a large money withdrawal at a bank and secretly give the money to a lawyer we had to meet up with. Well the reason she was afraid is because all of this was going down in a bad area of Honduras, shes already had 4 assassination attempts on her, people knew exactly who she was which in this case was bad, and mainly because when money is withdrawn from inside the bank (which is the safest) the teller makes a phone call and the next thing you know you are at gun point outside the bank being robbed of all your money. This is tellers that partner with street gangs.
This was By far the scariest day of my life because I thought I was going to lose my life being with this lady. Lord if ima die, I'm cool, but let me die peaceably, not running from an assassination attempt. Things just weren't looking promising after realizing I'm in a unfamiliar area, I have no means of defense besides being able to fight but who brings a knife to a gun fight. I don't have money, I'm hungry, I don't know how to drive a stick shift truck, man all I got right now is God and speed. " Lord my plan is to run, direct my path please" lol.!!!
Anyway long story short, I was simply just an extra set of eyes and I survived the day which resulted in being rewarded with Applebee's :). You know this was a blessing because we've been eating beans and rice literally everyday for lunch. I'm looking really famished!
