Christ is enough
Sometimes it's so hard to fathom the thought of being fully satisfied in Christ. What does that look like on a daily basis and how prone are we to finding satisfaction in other things. Even things that are good sometimes outrank Christ on our list of priorities. I have learned that there is a huge difference in saying "I have a wonderful life I'm just missing Jesus" vs. "my life is absolutely hopeless without Christ." Most people including myself at one point in my life see Christ as a cherry on top of the cake but this is absolutely wrong and preposterous! Christ the creator of the universe, the one whom all things were made by, for, and through, the one who died for a sinful world, the one who rose from the dead. To make him the cherry on your so called great life is to reject him for who he says he is.
Lately i Feel god has had me in a place of opening my eyes to a greater depth of who he is through the gospel. I just completed "Gospel" by J.D Greear and its a book I recommend you read. While reading this book and studying scripture, I am convinced more that if Christ did what he really said he did and if he really is who he says he is then I have no other choice but to be fully satisfied in him and I have no other choice but to give my life away for the sake of him. And this is all in response because of what he has done.
Something that I am realizing in a greater measure as well is that there is absolutely nothing on this earth that can satisfy like Christ. The reality is that food is good, marriage is going to be great, money helps pay for things, clothes are important, shelter is necessary, the list goes on but the list comes to an dead end and goes back to the dust!!! Vanity solomon declares!! It's a daily battle to look to the creator vs. the creation when we live in a world consumed with being satisfied in the creation. The real battle isn't out here in the village where there is nothing to be consumed by, the battle is when I go back to the "Roman Empire" (america) where they brag about health, wealth, beauty, status, power, jewels, sex, and talent. Is Christ enough then?
For all readers I hope that Christ has done such a work in your heart that you see him as not only all you need but all that you have. Give your life away for his sake and you will be satisfied. Love
