As soon as she sees us walking into the Orange Room at Grace House, she comes walking intently to “greet” us. She’s all over the place bouncing from person to person and running around.
She likes things to be perfect, almost in an OCD way, from buckets to people.
She is hard to get to know. Her outer shell is thick. She is difficult to take care of for only a couple hours each day.
She loves music and one-on-one attention. If you let her watch the street, she is instantly entertained for hours.
This is Faith.
Faith is a 13 year old with autism and a slight hearing loss.
She has been in an orphanage of some sort since she was 3 years old. She moved to Sarah’s Covenant Homes 3 years ago.
In the past weeks, Team Barefoot has been with Faith we have seen a difference in her behavior. She is calmer and she hits herself less.
Faith has so much potential.
Faith is learning.
Faith is growing.
God has such a great plan for this young girl, but she needs some help.
Faith needs a sponsor (or three) to help her. Here at Sarah’s Covenant Homes it takes $200 USD per month to take care of the kids. This money goes towards everything: food, basic medical needs, schooling, special education teachers, supplies, clothes, hygiene needs, housing, and all the other things to take care of a child.
Our goal is to get Faith fully sponsored.
Our bigger goal is to 2 other girls fully sponsored.
Our even bigger, bigger goal is to get everyone in Grace Orange Room fully sponsored. There are 7 more girls in Orange Room that need full or partial sponsors.
To sponsor Faith, visit the SCH website: http://www.schindia.com/children/faith/
If you feel lead to financial support Faith, please contact me directly so we can update the website accordingly.
And, once Faith is fully sponsored we will introduce the next girl.
Make sure to check out all of Team Barefoot blogs to learn more about Faith:
And Mary, our squad leader who has been with us at Sarah’s Covenant Homes this month!
