What an honor to be serving the Lord overseas again! I am both blessed and humbled at what He alone is doing!
I am currently in Bogota, Columbia serving during “spring break” with the college ministry at my home church, Trinity Church. I am yet again with a team of people I barely know, and you know what? I love it! Thank you so much World Race for all you taught me last year! Every team I cried and every frustration I felt was so worth it! The “gentle Renee´” is finally here! God is constantly growing me and changing me, He is continuing to mold me and sift me! It´s a beautiful, beautiful time!
Well, we have been able to see some of the country, and it is absolutely beautiful! The culture is amazing. The people are beautiful. We were able to attend the largest church in Bogota, and wow…this is the first church I have ever been to that I truly felt geniune Holy Spirit presence even before entering the church!!!! The passion that pours out of this church is real and my prayer is for the United States to be this passionate about our Savior!! Pastor Toti was able to preach to a good 100,000 thanks to multiple serves, radio, tv, and internet broadcasting! What an incredible gift from the Lord! Pastor Toti is truly anointed! I have enjoyed spending time with him and his family while here. Today we went to the slum areas, the call it a 0 or -0, meaning it´s district ranking, 6 is the best -0 the worst. This place reminded me of everywhere I traveled last year. It was Cambodia, Haiti, Dominican, Thai, Vietnamese, European all at once. My heart and soul cries out for the lost, the broken, the hungry and the needed. These children desire love and physical touch in a way I can never imagine needing it, and yet that is exactly how we are with our spritual needs. The Lord revealed to me that when we are longing and desiring and turning to things not of the Lord it is because we are starving spiritually and reaching for the wrong food. But when we reach for the Lord and the Word, that hunger is fed. Just like the childrens phyisical hunger!
The country is hungry for the Lord and for revival! I am excited about what this year brings for Bogota! I will post pictures and even some video soon!
