It has been amazing how much I’ve needed Christ this past month. He has really been taking me through the rough valleys to get to the beautiful mountain tops. I’ve been sick a lot and its been hard, but its also great to need God’s healing touch – to experience God’s healing touch. His comfort is refreshing and makes me want to dig in deeper to who Christ is and to explore more and more of His love.

As it has been almost five months now, I’m thrilled by what Christ has already done in and through me, but as I look forward to the next half of this race, to Africa and to Latin America, I know there is so much more ahead – this passage in 2 Corinthians where Paul is explaining how he has lived excites me and makes me want this to be the case in my own life as well:

“We try to live in such a way that no one will be hindered from finding the Lord by the way we act, and so no one can find fault with our ministry. In everything we do we try to show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. We have been beaten, been put in jail, face angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless nights, and gone without food. We have proved ourselves by our purity, our understanding, our patience, our kindness, our sincere love, and the power of the holy spirit. We have faithfully preached the truth. God’s power has been working in us. We have righteousness as our weapon, both to attack and to defend ourselves. We serve God whether people honor us or despise us, whether they slander us or praise us. We are honest, but they call us imposters. Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything!
[2 Cor. 6:3-8,10]

Please be praying for us as we head to Africa and try to live out Paul’s passage. Continue to pray for unity among our teams, good health, strong leadership, great ministry opportunities, and open eyes and ears for what God has for us this month.
