Here is a summary of what God has taught me over the last 5 months in Latin America…..and now in Asia!!!
Month 1….DR
God taught me about what it means to give up my comforts and truly live for him. This month was a time of adjustment and seperating myself from home to the mission field. It was a time of learning what living in community meant. I also learned that I was broken in some ways and needed to let God work in me to heal that. It was a month of learning what brokenness is and how to let God work in my life through that. Ministry was stretching through prayer walks and working with the school and church. Oh yeah and I learned to let go of control WOOT WOOT!!!!!
Month 2….Ecuador
This month was an amazing month of hearing from God and having such amazing quiet times with my father. I had many times of coming before God and crying out to him. It was a month where I heard alot of what God was telling me and also had many times of breaking down before God in brokenness. I wanted to be whole and God made me alot stronger through this. I learned what giving up your cross meant and how to be a disciple for God. I fasted from internet so had no big distractions. Ministry was good being more construction and praying over people in the church. Sharing my testimony was good for me too.
Month 3…..Peru
This month was hard and yet a time of learning. I was in the desert season of my life and yet God showed me grace and love. I needed to wake up spiritually and come alive through Christ. It was a good month of pressing into ministry through painting and construction. I enjoyed seeing the fruits of our labour.
Month 4….Nicarauga
This was by far the hardest month for me. I had my bucket month meaning I sat on my bed alot and really had to examine myself and why i was on the race. Selfishness really came into play. I was trying so hard to get out of the desert but learned it`s in God`s timing not mine:) God continued to love me through this and while interacting with the children at the orphange, I learned what it means to really share your love with others.
Month 5….El Salvador
This was a good month ministry wise. We did alot of prison and hospital ministry which is where my heart is. We did alot of evangelism which stretched me so much. I was working on me and God time and getting closer to him in this month. It was a month of many comforts and luxury. God taught me to be thankful for what we have. I had to examine my heart many times. Again God is good through all of it.
And now……Thailand!!!!!
Well this month is almost half way through already and WOW God is working. More blogs to come so stay tuned. Already God is telling me to be bold and go forth in his name. I am learning to step out in faith and take the initiative in building relationships with the girls. I am praying that light may shine so bright in Thailand. YAY!!!
