Hello friends and family:)

Well after a long 24 hours of flying and layovers on Thursday we finally arrived in Quito Ecuador at 2am on Friday morning. What a tiring day of travelling but everything went smoothly and we had fun together. We are staying in a beautiful hostel place for missionaries. We have comfortable beds and the place is gorgeous. The hosts are great and very friendly and helpful (some are even Canadians) That made my day!!! Yesterday we got to go explore the city and the equator. We took many fun bus rides and toured around. The first thing we did was visit the equator. We got to stand on the 0 latitude line of the equator. It was AMAZING!!!! We had a tour and learned about the jungle and rainforest people. Quito is a beautiful city full of older buildings. We went downtown and got to look around at the old churches and more.
So that being said today is our last day at this place and then tomorrow morning we leave for our ministry sites. I am so excited to tell you that my team is going to the jungle…..that`s right the jungle:) I am so pumped for what God is going to do in and through us. I am happy to say we are doing many different things. Some of which are VBS, construction, church planting and evangelism. God is going to stretch each of us through this time I believe. I find some of these ministries to be outside of my comfort zone but that is what the World Race is all about. I am stepping out of the comfortable to the uncomfortable. I am ready and so eager to go and see what is in store.
Our ministry contact asked 4 things to challenge us with, they are:
1. Give 110% of ourselves
2. Be here fully and in the moment
3. Challenge yourself with something
4. Choose joy
I thought that was really good and I am now praying and asking God to let me practice each one of these this month and every month coming,.
I ask that you pray for my team as we go forward into God`s kingdom and share Christ`s love amongst the people in the jungle. Pray for strength and good health. I have heard that everyone who goes to the jungle gets sick. The locals cook for us so that`s why they get sick. I am praying against this and ask that you pray that with me. Please pray that I may be stretched and put into uncomfortable places to grow more then ever. I can do all things through Christ.
I am so passionate about this I feel my heart just beating so excitedly right now. I get tears just thinking of what is going to happen this month. I won`t be blogging for the month as we have no internet in close distance. That a lone will be challenging but I will be distancing myself in many ways. I love you all and thank you for your love and support. When we get back to the city I will be able to update you again.

Also as a side note I found out the ministry here is called Incalink. They work with youth and pregnant teens, ministry in women`s jail, and making a lot of contacts around the cities and jungles etc. They train youth leaders to do ministry here too. They do a lot of evangelism in their ministry. When I heard that I was so excited for them and really felt like this is an area God is calling me to do in the future. I love Ecuador and am already feeling comfortable here. I am really praying about this and if this is where God is leading me. Nothing defnite of course but just wanted to put it out there. Please pray for that too as I pray that God will show me where he wants me after the race. Maybe you will be visiting me in Ecuador lol:)

God bless each of you and I love you all dearly:)
