I thought about, prayed about, worried about and anticipated this week  for months. It seemed so far away… but my squad and I are currently at World Race Training Camp!!! We are here with 2 other squads that will launch the month before us and and the Real Life Immersion group – college students who will spend 9 months in the nations. We’re at a camp in eastern Tennessee connecting with each other and the Lord, developing as a team, and being put in situations that we might find ourselves in on the race.

B Squad Best Squad!
B Squad – BEST SQUAD! 🙂

So far it’s been the most unique, set apart, anointed experience I’ve ever had. Just a FEW highlights of what’s been going down so far:

  • 8 girls (all strangers at first) and 16 bags (8 hiking packs and 8 daypacks) stuffed into two cars to make the 10 hour trek to camp
  • I’ve danced like I’ve never danced before.
  • I’ve set up my tent 3 different times (on three different days).

Tent City at training camp!

  • I’ve quickly packed my backpack 4 times.
  • Through this my biggest lesson was that I suck at packing a backpack! (but praise the Lord for backpacks!) J
  • I’ve sang louder than ever in my life and didn’t care who heard me. (If you’re not aware, that’s a new concept for me.)
  • I’ve seen food multiplied to feed people when we ran out of breakfast.
  • I’ve sat in the middle of my tent with most of my belongings spread out around me wet and stinking and laughed.
  • I’ve experienced physical healing in my ankle!
  • I have spoken declarations and truth in authority over others and over myself.
  • I’ve hiked up a hill with a 30 pound pack on my back and a day pack strapped to my chest – the way we’ll carry everything on the race.
  • I’ve received words and pictures from the Lord about what he has for me and my team.
  • I’ve been prophesied over.
  • I’ve experienced freedom from things I didn’t even realize had bondage over me.

This list barely scratches the surface. To sum these days up in one sentence:

I’m learning (and seeing with my own eyes) that there are more sides of God and more ways that He brings heaven to earth than I’ve ever imagined.

Training Camp Worship

Oh yeah, and it’s only the 3rdmorning of camp. ALL of this and more has happened in less than 2 ½ days! Clearly, it’s only the beginning. And if it’s this good and this big now, I can’t imagine what’s ahead – not just for camp but even more so for the 11 months in the nations. And you know what? NOT KNOWING THE BEST PART!

Eager to share more stories with you when I get home.
Peace & Love,
R
