2012 was incredible.
It was the craziest, most joy-filled, most challenging year of my life so far.
It was a year of adventure.
- I slept in 72 beds.
- Traveled more than 50,000 miles.
- Stepped foot in 12 countries.
It was a year of living in abundance – with the least amount of money or possessions I’ve ever had.
It was a year of love and loss. Of celebrating and grieving.
It was a year of healing – physically, emotionally and spiritually.
It was a year of taking back some things the enemy had stolen.
It was a year of new dreams – ones bigger than I could ever dream for myself.
It was a year of… transformation.
renewal
restoration
redemption.
It was a year that changed everything.
And as the last moments of 2012 faded and I sat surrounded by old friends, champagne in hand, anticipating the strike of midnight and the ushering in of a new year, I couldn’t have been happier to leave the year behind. Yes, 2012 was incredible – it was the best year of my life. So far.
But I’m ready for a new season. I’m ready for more. I’m ready to take all that I learned and became and experienced in 2012 and walk into something greater. Where all of those awesome stories of last year aren’t just things that happened to me, but they are who I am. They’re what I walk in.
I’m ready for the next year and the next season because I know that as great as 2012 was, it’s not the pinnacle for me. The World Race and all that came with it isn’t where this journey ends. It's so just the beginning – act 1. There is more, and it’s waiting for me.
Right now.
So I’m sitting here in a coffee shop in my favorite city, gazing out the window as the sun shines through the wispy clouds. It’s a pretty perfect day. And I’m looking ahead. I’m dreaming with the Lord. I’m asking what the year holds. Imagining where I might go and who I might become. And here’s what I know:
It’s filled with promise.
Stay tuned.
