I’ve already been asked multiple times, “How many rings are there?”, or “Are you the Frodo of the group?”.

Very funny, everyone, very funny. (But I secretly wish I was a part of the Fellowship of the Ring. I want to be either Legolas or Gandalf. I already have the long, silver hair for both.)

But sadly, my Fellowship is not that Fellowship. My Fellowship is the next step in God’s journey for my life. The Fellowship is a program operated by Adventures in Missions (per the source material) “to equip future leaders with tools, resources, and confidence necessary for the realization of their Kingdom potential in the workforce. With a focus on professional and leadership development, The Fellowship helps high capacity developing leaders translate a kingdom lifestyle into the workplace under mentorship and guidance in the context of healthy community.”

The Fellowship is a three-prong approach to growth both spiritually and professionally. I will have a spiritual mentor who will disciple me in the Lord, a professional mentor who will develop me one on one as a leader, and I will be working on a project at Adventures. The type of projects vary, as Fellows are available to work in every single department in Adventures. Myself and the 10 other fellows in my class will be working Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 5 pm at Adventures in Missions headquarters in Gainesville, Georgia. I move to Gainesville on September 20th, and will remain there until…well I’m not completely sure when I will leave, but the Fellowship ends in March, so let’s go with that.

I am very excited for this opportunity to grow as a leader in ministry and in the professional world. I am so blessed by the community, resources, and opportunities provided by Adventures, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into spiritual leadership, professional development, and trusting the Lord in both areas. God is good, all of the time, and I’m eager to see His goodness in the relationships I will build at Adventures and the projects on which I will work.

Just like the World Race, the Fellowship requires me to raise support. I am already $1,100 on my way to my goal of $10,000, and if you wish to support me, you can do so through the ‘Support Me!’ link on the home page of my blog, or by going to www.adventures.org/give. I greatly appreciate your support in the next stage of my growth as a servant leader!
