It takes courage to stare into the silence.

It takes courage to sit in the Stillness.

You must be fearless to face yourself.

You must be loved to see your true self.

The Stillness seems to be full of noise.

The silence is movement, action, distraction.

These are the lies we make, façades we create.

These lies make their disguises hard to break.

I seek to sit in the Stillness, but I am trapped in other things.

I ask, push, move, desire, plea myself for more.

But I am lost in the nothingness of everything.

How do you fight with nothing?

It is easy to sit in nothing.

If you squint, it looks something like the Stillness.

It is easy to check into nothing, and check out of life.

Nothing will consume you as only nothing can.

But the Stillness is nothing like the nothing.

The Stillness is filled with He who is everything.

And He who is everything kills the clatter of nothing.

That is why he who owns nothing hates the Stillness.

In the Stillness, I get the gift of freedom.

In the Stillness, I hear the calling of my name.

In the Stillness, I am broken and remade.

In the Stillness, no thing is left the same.

To sit in the Stillness, it takes sacrifice.

To stare into the silence, work must be done.

But, thankfully, that work “is finished.”

Surrender, be fearless, and face the Stillness of the Son.
