After 11 days, I am finally home from Training Camp. I am still processing everything that went on, but let me tell you, it was the most spiritually, emotionally, and physically intense few days I have ever had. A blog specifically about Training Camp is on the horizon, so be on the lookout!

However, at Training Camp, we were given our teams! For people that aren’t familiar with World Race lingo, I will break it down a little. I am a part of I-Squad. There are 27 of us total (20 girls, 7 guys). Within our squad, we have 4 teams (3 teams of 7 people, 1 team of 6 people). I am a member of one of the two Co-Ed teams.

So, without further ado, MEET MY TEAM!!

The Guys:

Andrew: He is so full of wisdom that is desperately needed in the kingdom at the moment. He is always encouraging everyone, and if you are special, it is usually with a high five. Andy has gone through so much in his life, and I have so many things to learn from him!

Matthew: Matt is never afraid to jump into situations. He is so full of confidence in the Lord, and that radiates throughout his everyday life. Matt is always there to give people a smile when they need it most!

Joe: If you need someone to make you laugh, go to Joe. He has the ability to make people feel comfortable around him instantly. The words that the Lord gives him when he is evangelizing is inspiring. God is going to do great things through Joe!

Josh: Josh is SOL DOD’s fearless team leader. He is the epitome of what it means to be a leader. He has a child-like faith and is unafraid of being goofy. He also has some of the best dance moves ever!

The Girls:

Kayla: Kayla is incredibly caring. She has the sweetest personality and is always willing to help others. Her faith is inspirational and she is someone that I look up to because of it. I cannot wait to be the hands and feet of God with Kayla!

Megan: For someone that has gone through so much, Megan is full of joy. She completely finds herself in the Lord and gains her strength from Him. She has a heart for God’s children and is going to be a huge asset to SOL DOD!

Regan: And then there is me. I am committing myself to the members of this team for the next 11 months. They are going to be the people that constantly pour into me, and I am vowing to pour into them just as much. God is going to use SOL DOD in ways that we cannot fathom!

So that is us! We are SOL DOD! We are Sons of Light, Daughters of Day!

We chose the name SOL DOD because of a verse that our coaches Keith and Karen spoke over our squad. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 says, “You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day.” That is what we are choosing to bring to everyone that we come into contact with; that we will bring God’s Light and the promise of a new Day!

Stay tuned for more of our adventures!
