Hey Y’all! Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog.
I want to take a moment to familiarize you with who I am, and briefly let you in on why I chose to pursue the World Race.
First off, I’m Rebekah! There are several little towns in the heart of East Texas that I call home, however, the bulk of my life was spent in Mineola. I am currently 21 years old, and I have an older brother, Tyler, younger brother, Michael, and younger sister, Rachel. My parents, Joe and Lorrie, are two of my biggest inspirations. They taught me how to chase my dreams, while still allowing Christ to be the center of my decisions.
My dad is an athletic director, so the bulk of my Friday nights from the time I was born were spent at a football stadium, and I wouldn’t trade being his number one fan at a single game for anything else. I was a dancer for 15 years, and in high school I ran track, cross country, and cheered.
I currently attend Texas A&M University-Texarkana, and will graduate in December with a degree in Mass Communication. When I’m not hitting the books, you will probably find me hammocking, going to the gym, hanging out with my bff’s Brooke and Katie, or binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix (No Shame). I can’t fail to mention that I have two of the greatest grandparents on this Earth, Bill and Linda. They are not only letting me live with them during college, but my feisty Pomeranian, Chubbs (who actually has nothing chubby about him), as well.
Why the World Race?
Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
I am a firm believer that we are not made to be settled, we are made to be sent. We only have one opportunity to live on this beautiful Earth we call home, and when I stand before our King, I want to be able to say that I attempted to share the gospel with everyone, not just in places I felt comfortable. I want the opportunity to call not just East Texas my home, but each village, town, city, and country I travel to throughout my life.
What better way to start this journey than 11 months on the World Race? Throughout the upcoming months, I will continue to update you on my journey, with hopes you will want to follow along!
Thanks again for taking the time to read a little bit about me. I would love to answer any questions you might have, so don’t hesitate to send me a message, blog request, or prayer request! I would love to get to know you!
