I love my family. More than anything else. Well, besides Jesus.

They’re my best friends.
My biggest supports.
The people I fight with the most.
The ones who poke my nerves like no one else can.
My go to’s.
My cheerleaders.
They’re my partners in crime.
The ones who have always loved me.
The people I call in times of highs and lows.

This is them:

My Daddy – Dependable

He calls me “Boo.” He’s the leader of the clan and does an amazing job at it. He has always challenged us and called us higher because he believes in us. He taught us prayer and devotion to The Lord. What it looks like to have faith and trust God in every circumstance no matter how great or how small. How precious it is to spend time with God even if it means waking up at 5 am every morning.

My Mom – Faithful

She calls me “Redbekah” or, my favorite, “Doodle Bug.” Saying she has a mother’s heart doesn’t feel like it fully covers it, but she does. She cares deeper than I can fathom about all of us. She’s always there, always wants to talk and listen, and is always praying. Intercession is something I’ve gained from her. She is not only a warrior in prayer, she could be the whole squad in one person. She fights for people in the best way she knows how – on her knees (though not necessarily literally). She never ceases praying.

Elijah & Krista – Valiant

Elijah is my oldest brother and calls me “The Bek.” Krista is his better half and calls me “Bekah” or “Sister.” They are adventurers. Both in the sense of going out and loving to explore but also in their day to day life. They’re on a grand adventure together and it’s clear they love every moment. They inspire me. They are also some of the best supporters toward people and their dreams I’ve ever seen. Both of their day jobs speak to this – helping the creative communicate their art and shaping the lives of kids year in and year out. But, they come around and believe in their people outside of work too.

Amos & Kailey – Passionate

Amos, my second oldest bro, is the only one who consistently calls me by my full name, which I love. Kailey calls me “Bekah.” Though you may not notice it easily, Amos and Kailey are two of the most passionate people I know when it comes to what they love. They care so much and are willing to do what it takes to see dreams and plans come through. They’re determined but humble about it. They aren’t showy. They live true to who God has made them to be and to their fullness.
They also parent my only niece and nephew (Lynli and Abel) and are amazing parents. I learn more from them every time I get time with them. They encourage me in what it looks like to be godly parents in our time.

Hannah & Anthony – Determined

My oldest sister, Hannah, calls me “Beke” and is the only person that doesn’t bother me when she says it. Anthony calls me “Bek” or sometimes “Beke.” By extension of Hannah that is acceptable. These two never give up. Ever. They are willing to go any distance in order to reach the glory that is before them. They love wholeheartedly. They give freely. They speak with care and love.

Abigail – Loving

Abigail calls me “Beta.” Yes, like the fish. I don’t have an explanation for this… Abigail is the kindest person. She loves family and is loyal to those she loves and cares for. She loves ballroom dance and there’s a new joy to her now that she’s taking classes. Connecting to people is easy for her because she loves most everything. She is beautiful.

Micah – Charismatic

My best friend. He calls me “Bek” or “Sister” or “best friend.” Hannah and I created a twitter handle for him years ago that’s @coolestlilbroever. I have full confidence that he is. Micah gets along with everyone and can connect to anyone. He’s friendly, caring, honest, and genuine. Ever since he was little, and I’m talking like 4 years old, he’s had a special connection with The Lord and has always inspired me in that.

I could go on for hours about these beautiful people. I love them a lot. This blog is a glimpse into the people who have stood by me my entire life and helped to shape me into who I am. I am blessed.
