To the left- I am an expert sweeper. To the right- you will see Weng Liang. This kid will melt your heart if he doesn’t kill you with laughter. He performs interpretive dance routines for us and sometimes plays a drum beat so we can have a turn. One day he jumped impressively high during a twirl and fell hard on his ankle which resulted in a doctor’s visit the next day. With his dancing limited, due to injury, he sat on the floor and danced moving only his arms and head. Thank you, Weng Liang.

The second ministry we have been working with is called Lighthouse. It is a drop-in center for the homeless and we help them cook and serve dinner. To the left are the dinner plates, stacked to perfection. And below is the most adorable woman named Cecille. She volunteers everyday at the Lighthouse. You wouldn’t know it by looking at her, but I think there is a lion living inside of her. She is the feistiest 90 lb lady I have ever met and she is hilarious. She rides her bike to work everyday and wears this get-up so as not to receive the suns harmful rays.
We did an hour and a half trek through the jungle and ended up on a pretty little beach, with monkeys. These “cute” creatures were trying to steal all of our stuff, they managed to sneak an orange from Sarah’s bag. Very naughty. (DAD!… he really was a stealer monkey!!! just like me, except I’m not a real monkey.)

Lastly, meet our two new Muslim friends. Just kidding, it’s good ol’ Holly and I. We visited a mosque and they gave us Abaya’s to wear. It was pretty cool to be able to wear one but I must say, they are SUPER toasty. And the 94 degree weather probably didn’t help. We had a tour guide that answered all of our questions about the Islam religion and we were able to have good conversation. He also loaded us up with tons of books and our very own Qur’an in English.LOVE YOU ALL!

These are some of our friends from Kawan.
