Hi!!
My name is Rebekah but most people call me Bek- with the exception of an occasional Beki boo, you probably have to be my mom to call me that. I’ve lived in Southern California for all 22 years of my life, right now in Huntington Beach.
I have the best family in the world. My dad has given me a love for being outside and a love for simple things. My mom is probably the sweetest lady you will ever meet and is the strongest prayer warrior on the planet. I have a twin brother who I adore and so does everyone else that meets him. I also have an older brother who is marred to my very first sister (in-law… but does that really matter? no.)! They have a beautiful baby boy, Asher…duh-dun duh-dun! my nephew! how stinking cute is he? I mean, really.
i love him.
I’m currently attending Long Beach City… it’s like my 5th year there, ha! But i will be getting my AA this semester. finally, woohoo. Also, in my spare time, I babysit awesome kids and watch the toddlers at church. It’s the best job in the whole entire world. Kids are so rad. Life is just getting better and better and I can’t wait until January!!
Here are some really interesting facts about me… just kidding. but really. How funny is it that people love to talk about themselves?
1. i grew up in the church… as a pastor’s kid. It has come with its ups and downs but I really wouldn’t change it for anything.
2. I love traveling and exploring. i’ve been to 12 countries, i think.
3. My hair color changes every couple of months- I think I like it and then, nope, i get sick of it. It is currently blonde but we’ll see how long it lasts.
4. I live for avocados and bean&cheese burritos. I could and would eat only these things for the rest of my life AND be completely content. I’m not lying. This is me when I was 6, proof of my obsession. i just really love avocados. obviously.
5. I am an avid harry potter fan. i can’t get enough of the little guy. on top of loving all the HP books, I just really love to read- mostly fiction and mostly books that have some sort of adventure aspect or an incredibly dysfunctional main character with killer humor and wit. Other than that I love books about Jesus.
6. I love playing soccer with my friends and get jealous every time I watch bend it like beckham…. i love rock jumping and being in prank wars with people. I also love throwing water parties; squirt guns, inflatable waterslides, slip n slides.. aww yeah.
7. I am completely in love with disneyland. My pass expired 2 months ago and i’ve been grieving ever since, there was no point in getting one if I’m leaving in January, right? WRONG. (I’m getting over it.)
8. I kind of hate when people spell your wrong. Your is possessive and you’re is a contraction for you are
9. I don’t like to be around people who are know-it-alls. But i always catch myself acting like one and then have to give myself a little kick in the butt.
10. i really hate the sound of styrofoam against cardboard. now i have the chills
11. My heart absolutely melts over children. All of them. Everything about them. I also love striking up conversation with the homeless- they have a lot to say and i have learned some of the most important lessons of my life from them. (and from kids)
12. I’m interested in loving people because they’re people, listening and caring for them.
13. I want to stop caring about what other people expect from me or think about me… i want to smell the air outside and enjoy life’s simple pleasures while helping people along their journey. Helping others with their load- and not for personal gain.
