Today was day two of my 11 day fast, it was a lot easier than yesterday. My name of God today is “Jehovah Jireh”which means “The Lord will Provide”This is PERFECT for today because that is what I have been seeing (and what I've needed to be seeing). God provides! I haven't raised a ton of money yet, but God has shown me that He is a provider. I went to Ethiopia last May on my first short term mission trip and it was the first time I had to raise a large amount of money, and sure enough God provided, and He provided again when I went to Uganda this past March. I know that God will provide the money for this trip and I need to remind myself that it is not in my strength but His.
I have also been reading Hebrew 11 everyday and it's so good. This is my favorite part:
“And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets—who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life.”
– Hebrews 11:32-35
All those things happened because the people had faith in God. So I just need to continue having faith that the Lord will not only provide all of the $15,500 but also money for a tent, sleeping bag, etc. and also that He will be there with me through it all, and that He will do amazing things while I am on the race.
