We were asked to write a blog about how we felt before leaving on this mission trip. Here is what I’m expecting…
In many ways, I have no clue what to expect. However, a few things I do expect are…
- To be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually
- To grow in my personal walk with God tremendously
- To be put in uncomfortable situations
- To not always have the most comfortable living arrangements
- To see and experience things that break my heart
- To learn new things about myself
- To grow in my dependence upon the Lord for everything
- To grow in a community with fellow Christians and and make some life-long friends
- To learn about new cultures and see more of God’s amazing creation
- To miss my family and friends tremendously
- To try new foods… which I may or may not like
- To see God work in huge ways!
Overall, I expect this trip to be an experience of a lifetime; one that I cannot have without stepping out of my comfort zone and handing everything over to God. I am so excited about what God has in store and I do expect that He will be with us everywhere that we go!
