Have you ever had a song speak to you?
Well, I am one of those people who LOVES music. God uses music to teach me things and I really like that.
Lately I have been searching for a song that I heard a couple weeks ago and finally again today. When I tried seaching for it, I could not remember the words. While driving home tonight, it came on and I was so excited. I wanted to park the car and write the words down.
Here are the lyrics.
Washed By The Water
by NeedToBreathe, Album: The Heat
Daddy was a preacher
She was his wife
Just tryin to make the world a little better
You know, shine a light
People started talking
Trying to hear their own voice
Those people tried to accuse my father
Said he made the wrong choice
Though it might be painful
You know that time will always tell
Those people have long since gone
My father never failed
Even when the rain falls
Even when the floods start rising
Even when the storm comes
I am washed by the water
Even when the Earth crumbles under my feet
Even when the ones I love turn around and crucify me
I won’t never ever let you down
I won’t fall
I won’t fall
I won’t fall as long as you’re around me
Even when the rain falls
Even when the floods start rising
Even when the storm comes
I am washed by the water

This song is just amazing to me. In Ezekiel 47:1-12, it talks about the river of life. (Erin you should be proud that I use this scripture quite a bit), If we weren’t washed by this cleansing water, we would be dead. Going through hard times, it feels as though we are dried up and feel like the world is crumbling under our feet. But God sweeps us away with his cleansing and healing water. He brings us new life and refreshes us.
John 4:13-14 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Refresh my life Lord. Overflow my life with your blessings and love. Sweep me away in your River of life, Oh God. Revive me again.
Amen!
