As I watch the sunset over the mountains, I start to see the flames appear. To people of the country of Haiti, they are flames of burning garbage. To me, it is hope. Hope that the gospel of truth will spread like wildfire. That these few fires we see in the along the mountainside would be the light of Christ. Each day another one would be set ablaze.  Scripture tells us that “a city on a hill cannot be hidden”  Mat 5:14. Well, Haiti cannon be hidden. Les Cayes, cannot be hidden. Christ is moving and more and more of the flames along the hillside are showing up.
In the evening, we do our hour of intercessory prayer as a team and we can hear the worship going on through the valley. Even though we are about 10 miles from the Voodoo capitol of the world, Christians aren’t afraid to sing his praises at the top of their lungs. They are UNHINDERED  in their worship. I strive to be more like that. Not afraid of what others may think. Not afraid of if we look silly when we are dancing before the King. I don’t want to be a stuffy, legalistic Christian who puts God in a box and limits what He can do in my life. I want Him to lead me in this dance of life. Even though I may step on His toes every once in a while,  He would love me through that process.  I don’t want control of this life. It is too hard for me to be in control of. I give up. Things are better when He is in control rather than myself.

This Friday starts the Voodoo festival. The funny thing about this, they have given the first day (Friday the 13th) to the Christians. Last year during the festival, there was a truck that fell over in front of a church after the truck was blaring music during a church service. Nothing was around to push the vehicle over. There was a fatality and they all became scared. They realized at that point, that OUR GOD is bigger than theirs and if they didn’t give HIM the first day, bad things were going to happen. Amen to that! So my prayer is that they realize our God is bigger and more powerful than  anything in this world. That they would see His love and not just the ‘scary’. Please  be praying for this festival and for the safety of the Christians that are here and the Christians that will be coming in from afar. Pray that anything evil would not be able to penetrate into the festival on Friday, but that people would be changed and fall to their knees in worship to Our God. That the lights would be spread across the mountaintops and not just in a few places. Hallelujah!
I hope you all have a great Valentines day and I wish you all love!
