Our first month is coming to a close and we were asked to process it. We were given a list a questions to try and help get the juices flowing. Here is what I have been thinking about.

Part of me thinks that we weren’t that productive. I have been hearing stories and seeing pictures of the different ministries that other teams have been doing and feeling that ours was not that exciting. We had a lot of downtime. It is hard for me not to play the comparison game. This month was hard-ish. We did a lot of rebuilding relationships. But, we were doing exactly what God wanted us to do.

Originally, my team was supposed to go to the slums, but our team was switched with another accidentally. Coaches and squad leaders prayed about it and felt that it was a God thing.

I am grateful for this past month. We learned a lot about one another as well as a lot about the culture in the Dominican. We needed this month in the mountains to learn how to grow as a team. We needed to know how to depend on one another and really get to know one another as a family. We learned how to really listen to God and not just rely on ourselves. That was the biggest feat.

Next month, we will be in Les Cayes, Haiti with Ashley Musick. Other than that, we will be alone again. I think God has big things in store for us and a lot more to learn about one another (Apparently).

P.S.- If you know anyone in the L.A. area that is willing to house a team of 6 or 7 people on March 3rd, PLEASE e-mail me. We will be flying into LAX March 3rd in the morning and flying to Thailand March 4th around noon. The flight is 21 hours (with a stop to refuel somewhere) and then an 18 hour bus ride to our next location. I know you are jealous of all of that travel time! J

Love you all and I will catch up again when I have time.
