Day 5-|
So far, I
love the Dominican Republic. The people
are beautiful, and super friendly. My team will not be staying in this
community very long. We actually leave on Saturday, while most of the squad
stays in this community. I am excited to go and minister to the people in the
community. We will be going into the mountains about an hour from San Juan.
Miguel said that there were many waterfalls but not many places with
electricity. You may not hear from me for a few weeks, but I promise to blog as
soon as I have access.
Please be
praying for my team as we go out into the mountains this Saturday. We are
getting a REAL taste of what the race is like. I will get to use my tent,
headlamp, campfire skills and more at this location. We will need to rely on
one another and that could be very hard this first month of ministry.

Wednesday
night, God spoke to me. He wanted me to tell the squad to call out his many
names in praise to him. Then a little while later, he reminded me of a song to
share and talk about. So I started reciting the lyrics. “Give me one pure and
holy passion. Give me one magnificent obsession…”God wants us to become
obsessed with Him. Then the group wanted
me to start the song out and they followed along. As most of you know, I don’t
really like to sing in public. …alone. But, God gave me the courage to go ahead
and sing and lead us into that song. Right after I started singing, I realized
why God wanted me to have people yell out his many names. How awesome! I have
never had 2 experiences with God like that in one worship setting. It was nice
to feel like I was actually hearing from God and the confirmation that I did
get from Him about it.
