(Jan. 11th)
We made it to Arroyo Cano. So far there is a lot of down time. Life is just so much slower in the D.R.
We cleaned the church today with some of the ladies in the church. Around 11, they were ready for a break and downtime for a good couple hours.
Last night, Tim gave a sermon with Amanda being the translator and I led worship. (in English)
Although they couldn{t understand, they still sang along and clapped their hands. Even one of the members came up and played the drums. After Church, they all wanted to know more about us. If we had boyfriends or girlfriends, where we lived, etc. It is a very young church. The pastor is 27 and most of the members are just around that. There are a lot of Children and I can{t wait to pass out the gifts frmo Samaratains Purse on Wednesday to them. I can{t wait to see their faces light up when they get this gift. Knowing the love and prayer that went into making each and every one of them for those children is great.
No matter how difficult it is to speak the language, the language of love is universal. Our presence will not just be “Oh, this white person speaks very goodspanish” but “This person is showing me love without knowing me”
We are not sure where God is leading us as of right now. THere are a few villages up the mountain and we are praying which ones we feel we are called to going to.
Well I wlil update when I get more time
I am trying to play catch up from my written journal.
Love you and miss you
