About a year ago I started reading a blog, www.aholyexperience.com, written by Ann Voskamp. Through this blog, I got to know Ann and then she published a book called One Thousand Gifts. I read this book about 6 months ago, but it the last couple of days picked it up again. In this book she dares people to live fully where they are while giving thanks for everything.
"The greatest thing is to give thanks for everything. He who has learned this knows what it means to live….He has penetrated the whole mystery of life: giving thanks for everything." -John Piper
With it still being the Thanksgiving season, what are you thankful for?
Grace. Peace. Understanding. Family. Forgiveness. Love. Friends. Coffee. Running. My bed. T-shirt blanket.
His Word. Books. Technology. Cards. Laughing. Crying. Text Messages. Reading. Planes. Nephews. Joy. A Father who cares for ME. Being humbled. The church body. Life. Breath. Smiling. Sun. Remembering. Beauty. Warm houses.Cell Phones. Music. Showers. Hand written letters. Couches. Patience. Conversations. Christmas Music. Communion. Singing. Prayers……
"Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelopes the Greek word for grace, charis. But is also holds its derivated, the Greek word for chara, meaning "joy".
"Charis. Grace.
Eucharisteo. Thanksgiving.
Chara. Joy."
"He gave thanks"-"Eucharisteo"
