The title of this blog could be confusing as you are well aware that I have eaten both a cricket and some weird Botswana worm. No, I did not eat a frog. Here in Nicaragua, we are working at CICRIN Orphanage. We are doing manual labor in the mornings and playing games and what not with the kids in the evenings. On our campus, there are 3 pet dogs…Toby, Scooby and Oreo. The other day, we believe, Oreo ate a poisonous frog. Oreo is now fighting for his life because of his mischievous ways.

I quickly saw a correlation between my life and Oreo’s. There are so many times in life where something looks so good, so tempting… just like the frog did to Oreo. Then I decide to indulge because it looks so appealing on the outside, but I don’t know it’s poison…It just looks soooo good! Little by little the poison begins to spread and contaminate my entire body from the inside out. Before I know it, the poison is killing me. What once was something that brought me temporary happiness is now taking away my life, my ability to be happy, my energy and my joy.

I don’t want to eat the frog. I want to only put good fruit into my body. I want to know my surroundings in such a way that I can spot the poison at first glance. No longer will I be a slave to my nature.

It’s about time for me to realize that I am set free, and I think it’s time that you do to.

Have you eaten any frogs lately?

P.S. Oreo is currently still alive and breathing. Hopefully it stays that way 🙁
