We took a bus from Swaziland to Johannesburg and then a train from Jo’burg to Cape Town, which took about 3 days total. The scenery was amazing, though…there’s so much variety through Swazi and SA and it’s (almost) all absolutely gorgeous!

Our second night in Gordon’s Bay (“suburb” of Cape Town) we were invited to the beach to see our new friends do some fire dancing…so cool to watch – once it was dark enough, all you see are circles of fire all over the place. I got a ton of great pics (many of them are on facebook for your viewing pleasure, but here are a couple of the best) and we had a blast.

We have visited a feeding program in a near-by village a few times, and though I don’t have pictures of the actual feeding program (first a short sermon, some singing, prayer time…then handing out either packaged or cooked food), Caitlin and I had a ton of fun playing with some little girls on a trampoline one day, so here’s a taste of that.

We’ve seen many breathtakingly beautiful sunsets from here…and valentine’s day was one beautiful example. We were all “dressed up” to head out to a movie and just happened to be leaving right after sunset.

Last weekend we headed out to the peninsula and saw penguins in Simon’s Town and then Cape Point and Cape of Good Hope. I was originally told that’s where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet, but found out that their actual meeting place is a few hundred kilometers down the coast at the southern-most tip of Africa, but there are two currents that meet here, and it is the southwestern-most point of Africa, so it was still pretty cool to see. Here’s the penguins and some of my pics from Cape Point.

It’s been a great, relaxing time here in Gordon’s Bay. We’ve been able to grow closer together as a team and have all drawn closer to God as well. We’ve learned about just being with God and letting Him lead and guide us. We’ve wrestled with some junk and celebrated the great times God has given us. Next week Monday – ? we’ll be in Jeffrey’s Bay for a conference with some of the people we’ve been working with here, then we’ll be taking a ROAD TRIP up to Swaziland (yeah, six girls, six packs, one car…I’m SO excited!!!). We’re planning on staying in Swazi for a while, some of our team may be heading to Mozambique for a little bit…but right now it’s all up to God and whatever He wants is what we’ll do. Stay tuned to hear about the road trip!
