Hello all from the other side of the world! Our entire team (and ALL our luggage) made it safely to Thailand very late last night/early this morning…whatever you want to call it. We started our journey by leaving at about 4am from our hotel near the Atlanta airport, flew to San Francisco (I was a bit disappointed because I didn’t get to see the bridge at all), flew to Tokyo (had a nice long layover and signed up to get frequent flier miles with United…after all, we did fly a lot of miles!), and finally flew to Bangkok, collected our stuff, met a couple January and June racers, and headed to the YWAM base where we have beds (!) and air-conditioning (!) and western toilets (!) and overall a nice facility. The next couple days will be spent here as we adjust to the time change (it’s 11 hours ahead of Eastern time), get briefed on our ministry locations, race around Bangkok, and learn about Buddhism (and see some Buddhist temples!). On Thursday we’ll head out to our separate ministry locations (each small group will be going to a different location…more on another post!). I think we’ll be there for about three weeks and then come back to Bangkok for a short debrief before we head to Cambodia on October 11. Thanks for praying us safely here!
