if you haven’t noticed, i’ve been a bit absent from the world of blogging. okay, so maybe it’s been more than just a little while since i’ve written a blog – in fact, i haven’t posted any of my own thoughts since the middle of august. it’s not that i don’t like writing. as a matter of fact, i do enjoy spinning out blogs and every now and then i’ll get really excited about something and will sit down to write, only to completely forget what i wanted to say or i’ll think it’s not “significant enough” to write about, and you, my friends, don’t get to hear any of these amazing thoughts God’s been sticking in my head.

well, hopefully that’s going to change. a couple weeks ago we world race alumni got an email encouraging us to start blogging again. i mean, think about it – we shared stories on the race of what God was doing, people read them and were spurred to do something: to pray, to get more involved in their church and the missionaries it supports, or to sign up for the race themselves. now that i’m home, i can do the same thing – share stories about what God is doing, reflect back to some things about the race that i didn’t share because of lack of internet or whatever reason, and challenge myself and all of you to bring God’s kingdom wherever he has placed us. i can be used to encourage other racers who have recently returned “home” and could be going through some of the same things i experienced.

so however God wants to use me, i’ve got to be willing. he’s not going to physically write these blogs for me, but he is going to direct my thoughts and my words (and sometimes he does fill my mind with thoughts and all i have to do is sit down and start typing and they come out). i’m not going to stand here like a girl scout with my hand raised in a pledge that i’ll blog every day or consistently every week or anything like that, but i will say that this is one way God wants to use me and i will do my best to listen to him and share. so come along on this post-world-race blogging journey with me, and together we can explore this crazy thing called kingdom.
